A Message From the Designer:
Ever since I was very young, clothing design has been a part of my life. It all started with paper dolls. I would create my own paper clothing and dresses, cut them out and use them with my store-bought paper doll models. I then progressed to Barbie? Fashion Plates. As I grew older into my grade school years, clothing was still a very large part of my personality.
I remember being so engrossed in the fashions and the designers of the 80's. I sketched ideas of clothing that I wanted to wear since we weren't able to afford many of the styles my classmates wore. In the 5th grade I became a huge fan of vintage apparel. My grandmother was an antique dealer and also owned a ladies resale shop which included some vintage apparel. Having my run of the store was a dream come true. It was at this time in my life where my true sense of style emerged. By the time I was in the 7th grade, I was studying my wardrobe, mixing and matching and planning out my outfits based on what I already owned. We were still pretty poor, so I learned how to be creative and resourceful with what I had.
At age 13, I took private sewing lessons from a professional seamstress. My first project was a Guinne Sax dress by Jessica McClintock. It was no piece of cake but I figured if I was going to do this, I was going to do it all at once-I was never one to waste time. By 21, I had already established my own clothing business and nearly a decade later, it continues to grow. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by.
